ESSENTIAL OIL OF MINT PEPPER 10 ML BIO

Latin name: Mentha x piperita

Distilled organ: flowering aerial part.

Manufacture: traditional distillation by steam distillation. It takes 100 kg of fresh plant to get 2 liters of peppermint essential oil.

Botany: Peppermint is a herbaceous plant. It is the result of a natural cross between aquatic mint and spearmint. She has a strong, cold smell. Its dark green leaves turn red in the sun and copper in the shade. The small flowers are pale purple. This plant which can reach up to 50 cm in height is above all aromatic. It provides an essential oil with a high content of menthol. Dried mint leaves were found in the Egyptian pyramids testifying to the very ancient use of this plant.

Contraindication :

- Avoid contact with the eyes !! It is irritating to the ocular mucous membranes. If contact, rinse the eye with vegetable oil, the water will be of no effect. That's why you always need to have a bottle of sweet almond oil in your pharmacy

- Peppermint essential oil is irritating to the skin, so it is best to dilute it to between 10 and 15% if applied over a large area (10-15% essential oil and 85-90% vegetable oil).
- For children aged 7 to 15, it is recommended to dilute it to 5%.
Do not broadcast pure Peppermint essential oil, it must be diluted between 10 and 15% in other essential oils.

- The essential oil of peppermint contains menthone and must be avoided internally; it should not be used for prolonged periods by people with hypertension.

- When used dermally over large areas, it should always be very dilute because it can cause hypothermia (icy effect).

Note: It is best to test the essential oil before use (two drops in the elbow for at least 24 hours to check that there is no reaction).
