Latin name: Cymbopogon martinii var. motia

Distilled organ: aerial part.

Manufacture: traditional distillation by training with steam. It takes about 100 kg of plant to produce 500 to 1000 ml of palmarosa essential oil.

Origin: Madagascar / India.

Botany: The palmarosa is a tropical plant, whose foliage can reach 3 meters in height. Its flowers turn red when ripe and contain the majority of the essence. The essential oil obtained from the young plant diffuses a sweet woody, balsamic smell, a little like that of the rose. It is also found in the tropics but also in the tropical islands of Capricorn as Madagascar. Its leaves, very aromatic as soon as they are crumpled, are used to obtain an essential oil with a specific smell due to its geraniol content. Because of its composition, it is ancestrally recognized for its bactericidal and fungicidal properties, and is traditionally used in addition to treatments for skin problems, eczema and mycoses.

What does a PALMAROSA essential oil look like? Appearance: liquid / Color: pale yellow / Odor: flowery and pinkish.

It has little risk of allergies and is well tolerated, especially in cutaneous application.

Recommended use:
- In massage: 5 to 10 drops diluted in 15 ml of jojoba vegetable oil, massage the affected areas.
- Blood and lymphatic circulation (cellulite, heavy legs, water retention, etc.):
- Angina (children and adults): dilute with vegetable oil and apply on the throat.
- Cystitis: dilute with a vegetable oil and massage the abdomen
- Recent scar: dilute with a vegetable oil and massage the scar every day.
- Acne: dilute with a vegetable oil or cream and apply on the parties concerned.
- Oily or dry hair: dilute in the shampoo and massage the scalp before washing the hair.
- Aphrodisiac: Mixed in your oily preparation. Apply your preparation by massaging the lower back.

In diffusion or olfaction:
- In diffusion, the essential oil of palmarosa is very pleasant and for those who like the smell of the flowers like the rose or the geranium. It is recommended to fight against stress and as anti-infectious.

- In atmospheric diffusion: alone or in synergy with other essential oils (lemon, fine or real lavender ...). General tonic, Palmarosa essential oil is traditionally recommended in case of nervous exhaustion or loss of libido.
