Botanical: True Lavender, also called Officinal Lavender, is a plant that we all know and that is part of the collective imagination when we evoke the South of France. It is one of the most famous and used essential oils. It grows in more or less compact clumps of stems of a characteristic gray-green color, contrasting perfectly with the violet-blue of the flowers. Lavender remains the most famous and used essential oil. The Romans already took advantage of the aromatic qualities of Lavender to perfume their clothes and their baths. His name is derived from the Latin "lavare", meaning "to wash". The term "washerwoman" comes from the fact that Lavender was added to the laundry water to perfume clothes.
