ESSENTIAL OIL OF PATCHOULI 10 ML BIO

Latin name: Pogostemon cablin

Distilled organ: leaf.

Manufacture: traditional distillation by steam distillation. The essence must age several months in barrels to lose some of its bitterness. Patchouli does not easily give up its oil to the smell so characteristic, since it is necessary to distil 100 kg of dried leaves for 6 to 8 hours to obtain 1 L of essential oil!

Origin: Indonesia.

Botany: Patchouli is a tropical plant with broad, velvety leaves, mainly grown in Indonesia and the Philippines. The plant can exceed 1 m in height. Its flowers are white with shades of purple. The fresh plant has no smell, it is only after a fermentation phase that the precursors of the various molecules give the smell to the leaves which is then used to obtain an essential oil or an absolute.
Patchouli has a powerful odor, both woody, earthy and dry with smoky, camphorous, sweet and even moldy accents. In Asia, it was traditionally used for its soothing, purifying and aphrodisiac properties. Often associated with the hippie movement of the 1970s, Patchouli was known to stimulate the desire to exceed its inner and outer limits. . Dried leaves are used to keep away mites and other insects. Patchouli is widely used in perfumery and is now considered as expensive and luxurious raw material.

What does a PATCHOULI essential oil look like? Appearance: viscous liquid / Color: pale yellow to brown / Odor: woody, herbaceous, aromatic and spicy.

Its properties:

Recommended use:

In massage:
- For healthy and regenerated skin 3 to 5 drops diluted in 15 ml of neutral vegetable oil, in local applications.
- Acne, eczema, cutaneous parasitosis, wrinkles: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil, a care cream or a mask for a local application.
- Hair loss, oily hair, dandruff, mycosis of the scalp: dilute a few drops in the shampoo to apply all the hair and massage the scalp.
- Recent scar: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil to apply locally.
- Crevasse, allergic dermatitis, inflammatory dermatitis, eschar, impetigo: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil and apply to the area to be treated.
- Cellulite, edema, water retention, varicose veins: dilute a few drops of essential oil in a vegetable oil to massage the part to be treated.
- Hemorrhoids: dilute in a vegetable oil to apply locally.
- Difficult digestion, slow digestion: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil to massage the belly.
- Heavy legs: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil, to massage the legs from the bottom to the top.
- Fatigue, nervousness, sleep disorder, stress, overwork, nervous tension: dilute a few drops of patchouli essential oil in a vegetable oil to massage the spine, soles and solar plexus.

In diffusion: The smell of the essential oil of Patchouli in diffusion can become heady. This is why it is recommended to dilute it with other essential oils.

Contraindication :

- Do not use in pregnant or lactating women
- Do not use in children under 6 years
