ESSENTIAL OIL OF LEMON 10 ML

Latin name: Citrus limonum

Distilled organ: fresh zest

Manufacture: cold expression (The essential oil of lemon is obtained by cold pressing the zest of the fruit); It takes about 3,000 lemons to get 1 kg of essential oil.

Origin: Italy / South Africa.

Botany: Cultivated throughout the Mediterranean basin, the lemon is believed to be native to India. Considered a health fruit, lemon juice was once recommended to clean wounds and cuts, relieve pain and burns caused by insect bites. The Greeks and Romans considered it a panacea. It was introduced to Europe in the Middle Ages and is often associated with long-distance sea voyages during which men consumed them to protect themselves from scurvy. Lemon is one of the most used fruits in natural medicine. It comes from a small shrub susceptible to frost. Its leaves are leathery and its flowers are very fragrant. Lemon is a citrus of the family of rutaceae whose juice is acidic, with a pH of about 2.5 This essence is the most consumed essential oil in the world.

Oral: 1 drop diluted in 1 teaspoon of honey or vegetable oil, 3 times a day.

Contraindication :

The essential oil of Lemon can be nephrotoxic (toxic to the kidneys) after ingestion at high dose and for a long time.
Lemon essential oil is very aggressive. Apply only exceptionally and on small surfaces this pure essential oil on the skin. On a larger surface it should be diluted to 20% in a vegetable oil (20% essential oil and 80% vegetable oil).
This oil has natural compounds that may present an allergic risk in certain sensitive people (according to the cosmetic directive 2003/15 / CE): limonene, citral, linanol.
Avoid when taking anticoagulants.
Because of the sensitizing properties of lemon essential oil, its use is not recommended before exposure to the sun.
