PLANT EXTRACTS:
A QUALITY EXTRACTION PROCESS
The extracts of Ladrôme laboratory fresh plants come from a traditional know-how. They meet the manufacturing and control requirements of the Pharmacopoeia, from the manufacturing process to the conformity analysis of the final product. After the harvest, the plants are transformed: finely crushed, they macerate for at least three weeks in a mixture of water and organic alcohol; this mixture is stirred daily. This process makes it possible to extract the maximum of substances that are soluble in water and alcohol, the alcohol serving at the same time as a preservative. The solution thus obtained is decanted and filtered to obtain the plant extract which will then be packaged at the production site in Drôme.
Unlike modern chemical medicine that uses only isolated active ingredients, herbal medicine uses parts of plants or whole plants that act thanks to the multiplicity of their active components (called totum).
A plant extract or mother tincture is a hydroalcoholic solution concentrated in the active ingredients of a medicinal plant. After harvest, fresh plants are immediately macerated. Finely crushed, they macerate for at least three weeks in organic alcohol. The mixture is stirred daily. The solution thus obtained is then pressed, decanted and filtered to obtain the plant extract.
Each plant extract thus has particular properties due to its unique composition of active ingredients!

Botany: The Tree with forty crowns, the Silver Apricot tree or Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba L., 1771) (银杏 yínxìng in Chinese) is a species of trees and the only current representative of the Ginkgoaceae family. It is the only current species in the ginkgophyta division. It is considered a panchronic species. It is the oldest tree family known, since it appeared more than 270 million years ago. It already existed forty million years before the appearance of dinosaurs.Ginkgo is a medium to large tree, up to 20 to 30 m. The lifespan is very important, that of the botanical garden of the University of Tohoku is 1,250 years old. According to Francis Hallé's principle of coloniarity, ginkgo is a potentially immortal living being; it has no natural predators, parasites or diseases. The only adverse external factors would be man, telluric or climatic hazards.
The bark of young ginkgo trees is initially smooth then cracked and cracked over time. Its color varies from brown to gray.
Its leaves are unique among the trees, since they consist of two lobes in the shape of palms and not having a central vein like almost all modern plants. With a petiole, they are inserted on the branches in small groups of 3 or 412 and reach 5 to 15 cm long. These leaves are deciduous. Ginkgo biloba is an unusual tree, which is often described as a "living fossil" because it appeared long before the dinosaurs and belongs to one of the oldest arboreal species that one know. Originally from Asia, its fruits are used in China and Japan as food and medicine since time immemorial. It was in the eighteenth century that he won Europe and the American continent. First appreciated for its ornamental qualities, its extreme longevity (it can live for at least a thousand years) and its remarkable resistance, which has earned it to be the only plant specimen to survive the Hiroshima bomb radiation, A tree with forty crowns quickly seduced Westerners for its medicinal properties. Today, it is grown mainly in Asia, the United States and southwestern France, to satisfy the pharmaceutical industry that uses it in many drugs and supplements to relieve circulatory problems and improve memory.

In Asia, ginkgo leaves are used in decoctions to relieve respiratory diseases such as asthma or bronchitis (expectorant and sedative effects), but also as a dewormer. The seeds are used to prepare remedies for urinary disorders.

- External use
Helps healing ulcers, bruises, burns (poultices of crushed leaves on the injured areas). Many anti-aging cosmetic treatments (creams) use ginkgo as a base, for its protective and repairing properties on the skin (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and stimulant effects), especially in case of rosacea.
In Asia, the leaves also serve as poultices to cure frostbite.
