Aromatic qualities: earthy, woody, balsamic and sweet

Myrrh is a reddish brown resin from the Myrrha Commiphora tree. It was an integral part of the sacred incense ritual in the sacred spaces of Jerusalem in ancient times. Myrrh was once worth more than its weight in gold. Its endemic medicinal and aromatic use in ancient cultures made myrrh a flourishing commercial product for ancient civilisations.

Frankincense, known as one of the most prized and valuable resins, has extraordinary benefits. In addition to its notoriety in the New Testament, the Babylonians and Assyrians burned incense in religious ceremonies. This age-old knowledge contributes to the modern uses of incense.
