La myrrhe est une résine brun rougeâtre de l'arbre Myrrha Commiphora. Il faisait partie intégrante du rituel de l'encens sacré dans les espaces sacrés de Jérusalem pendant les temps anciens. Il fut un temps où la myrrhe valait plus que son poids en or. Son utilisation médicale et aromatique endémique dans les cultures anciennes a fait de la myrrhe un produit commercial florissant pour les civilisations anciennes.
